• If Alberta has had enough of wind and solar, who’s next?
  • Is de-banking just the beginning?
  • China is the biggest investment story you need to hear about now

Can you have too much of a good thing? Alberta, Canada, has had enough of wind and solar, for now. Alberta has announced a freeze on new projects. The premier of Alberta complains that the Canadian federal government won’t allow for the backup fossil fuel power plants that are needed to plug the gap left by renewable energy’s intermittency.

But what does it mean for the wind and solar industries if we are reaching some sort of threshold level for renewable energy, beyond which its intermittency means the entire grid becomes intermittent?

The Bank of England certainly seems to think we can have too much of a good thing. Incomes in the UK are booming… barely enough to keep up with inflation. But that still spells the need for even higher interest rates.

The de-banking scandal has grown to encompass more than banks, with government officials criticising other companies for wading into the Woke Wars. Are your investments caught up in the furore?
