As we fill these pages day in and out we occasionally pause to reflect on what makes Fortune & Freedom special. Fortune and freedom are both words with big meanings.
They might mean slightly different things to different people. It depends on who you ask.
To me, they are both indispensable. Life without the freedom to seek one’s fortune, whatever that might be, is not a fulfilling one.
2024 has been a year of great concern for many, including me. My colleagues and I have voiced our share in our articles. But as we celebrate that which is worth celebrating and being grateful for this holiday season, we briefly set our worries aside and thank you, our readers, for your interest in and support of Fortune & Freedom.
We do have our concerns for 2025 and beyond. But when I look around the world I see reasons for hope and optimism. I also remind myself that, in the words of President John F Kennedy, “Our problems are man-made; therefore they can be solved by man”.
