In today’s issue:

  • We can’t decarbonise everything
  • Carbon capture and sequestration will define our standard of living
  • Has CCS descended into a racket already?

Even under the most optimistic scenarios, we won’t be able to decarbonise everything we do. Which begs the question how we’ll reach net zero by 2050…

Carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) is the answer. By pulling carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere, we’ll be allowed to emit some carbon dioxide without breaching our net zero constraint.

But what’s the state of CCS technology? Is it going to save us from climate change? Or will it impose an impossible cost on the cost of living?
