I’m filling in for Nick again this week.
Inflation rose again in February. And that was even before the effect of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Rishi Sunak gave his “Spring Statement” this week, which is really a mini-budget. There were a few things to modestly alleviate the cost of living crisis. But it was thin gruel.
In particular, there was very little to help small businesses. This is close to my heart, as my father (now retired) put food on the table for my family through his own self-employed efforts.
And the war in Ukraine rumbles on.
